Fire service threatens to withdraw personnel from states

The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, FFS, Liman Ibrahim has threatened to withdraw firemen from states that cannot guarantee the safety of his men.

A statement issued by the FFS’ Spokesperson, Ugo Huan, condemned the recent attack on firefighters in Kogi State and called on all State governments to provide armed security personnel to help protect firemen on duty.

The statement further revalidates the Controller General calls for the establishment of an armed squad in the Federal Fire Service.
