Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says the development of vaccines by Nigerian scientists would enhance its acceptance by Nigerians.
Obaseki, who was represented by his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, disclosed this while addressing the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mohammed Abdullahi, who was on a courtesy visit to the State Government House.
He noted that the hesitancy being recorded in taking of COVID-19 vaccine may be linked to lack of local input in the manufacturing processes, hence the need for local production of the vaccine.
The Governor urged the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to actively promote research and innovation.
