The Former Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, has filed a suit against the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, challenging the seizure of his passport at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Odili in the suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja claimed that his international passport was seized from him on June 20, by operatives of the NIS and is yet to be returned.
He prayed the court to compel the NIS to release his passport and order a perpetual injunction against the respondents, from harassing him any further and interfering with his fundamental rights of movement.
Justice Ahmed Mohammed subsequently fixed September 28, 2021, for hearing.
