New Zealand has announced tighter border restrictions as new cases of COVID-19 emerged in areas previously free of the coronavirus.
This was disclosed by the Minister for COVID-19 response, Christ Hipkins today.
Hipkins said new requirement has been introduced for air travellers aged 17 and above who are not New Zealand citizens to be fully vaccinated before entering New Zealand.
The Minister added that strict lockdowns can end if 90 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated, contrasting with the current 46 percent.
