The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, has called off its month-long strike, set to resume on Wednesday.
A communiqué issued by the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Medical Association, Ekpe Uche, after a meeting with delegates of NMA and NARD yesterday in Abuja, urged Resident Doctors to stop the ongoing industrial action.
The communiqué mandated the National Officers Committee, NOC, to ensure the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed with the federal government on August 21.
Recall that NARD embarked on strike following a disagreement with the federal government over the non-availability of medical equipment at public tertiary hospitals.
