The Nigeria Customs Service says, it has intercepted 15 sacks of pangolin scales weighing 1,014.5kg and worth N1.7bn in Lagos state.
This was disclosed by the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali, who was represented by the National Public Relations Officer, NSC, Joseph Attah, at a press conference in the state, on Monday.
Ali stated that two suspects were arrested with the items and that DNA test would be conducted on the scales to know which country they emanated from.
He added that those who bought the products were not Nigerians but from well-developed countries, noting that Nigerians that are involved were lured by money to provide warehouse where the parts could be stored.
