Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has signed the state Drugs and Health Supplies Management Agency Bill into law.
Fayemi while signing the law on Tuesday, said the bill lays a framework for the manufacturing, procurement, and distribution of drugs and medical commodities in the State.
He also announced the approval of N80 million as seed funding for the establishment of the agency.
The State’s Commissioner for Health, Oyebanji Filani, however, disclosed that, the agency when established, will be the primary source of quality, affordable and accessible drugs for all state-owned primary, secondary and tertiary health facilities.
