The Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a bill seeking to establish the State integrity and accountability commission.
The House Leader, Martins Amaehule, after leading the debate in favour of the bill on Tuesday, said the bill is aimed at providing a legal framework in the fight against corruption in the public service.
Amaehule disclosed that the bill will also promote accountability and good governance in the state.
The Speaker of the House, Ikuiyi Owaji-Ibani, however, stated that, when signed into law, the bill will give the state powers to fight corruption in its domain.
