The Independent National Electoral Commission has advised female voters in Anambra State to avoid the use of makeup during the November 6 governorship election in the state.
The INEC State Deputy Director, Gender Desk, Chika Osuji who stated this in an event held in Awka, the state capital said the advice becomes necessary because of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System the commission would deploy to capture voters’ faces during the poll.
He stated that the BVAS will be used during the gubernatorial election to enable voters to use their fingerprints during accreditation at the polling units, adding that if the fingerprint can’t be read, the face would be used.
