Members of Tuomo community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State on Monday, staged a protest at Nigeria Agip Oil Company, for alleged breach of General Memorandum of Understanding, GMoU.
The leader of the protesters and Chairman of Tuomo community, Tomke Binebai, while speaking with newsmen, accused Agip of failure to fulfill its previous promises to the community since 2009.
Binebai said the Oil and Gas Company is yet to employ any indigene of the community or provide any basic amenity like electricity.
The Management of the Company is yet to make any official statement, as at the time of filing this report.
