Abia Government Upgrades State Institutions

Abia State Government has announced the conversion of three institutions into Universities following the approval by the State House of Assembly.

A statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, John Kalu, disclosed that the institutions are: Abia State Polytechnic, to become Abia State University of Science and Technology, Abia State College of Education, becomes Abia State University of Education, and Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Studies to Abia State University of Health Science and Management Studies.

It further approved special funding for the State Scholarship Board to enable them deliver more foreign scholarships to desiring students
