Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has announced that schools will reopen early next year regardless of currently low vaccination uptake.
Museveni revealed that schools will be opened in January and the rest of the economy will be opened in the same month.
The President, who has been in power since 1986, urged Ugandans to walk to the health centers and be immunized.
Ugandans have shown reluctance to get jabbed so far despite Museveni stating that 4.7 million vaccines are available with a further 23 million doses expected by the end of the year.
