Court Orders Newspaper To Pay El-Rufai N10million For Damages

Kaduna State High Court has ordered a newspaper Company to pay Governor Nasir El-Rufai N10 million as damages over a publication that the governor declared asset worth N90 billion.

In his ruling, the presiding judge, M. Muhammed ordered the Company to tender an apology that must be published in national dailies.

Recall the media outfit alleged in a publication on July 2, 2015 that Governor El-Rufai declared owning N90 billion, including 40 mansions, in his asset declaration forms with the Code of Conduct Bureau.
