The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, has assured the people of Anambra State that the governorship election in the state slated to hold on Saturday will be conducted across the 21 local government areas of the state as scheduled.
Yakubu made the disclosures during an Inter-Agency Consultative Forum held at the INEC headquarters in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Tuesday night.
The INEC boss stated that the commission in collaboration with all the security agencies is prepared to ensure that the governorship election is free, fair and credible nothing that sanity and orderliness prevailed in the state before, during and after the governorship election.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police in the state and deputy chairman of the Inter-Agency Consultative Forum, Echeng Echeng has disclosed that all boundaries linking Anambra State with other neighboring states will be totally locked down on Thursday night as part of measures to guarantee security within and outside the state during the governorship election.
