The Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority have said it will clamp down on all illegal Kerosene operators in the midstream and downstream sector of the oil industry.
This was disclosed by the Zonal Operations Controller of the Agency, Roselyn Wilkie, while reacting to the fire incident from a kerosene explosion in Kubwa, the Federal Capital Territory.
Wilkie explained that the agency’s Preliminary Accident Investigation Report on the explosion had revealed that it was as a result of an electronic spark from a nearby transformer.
Recall that the popular Kubwa Village market on Friday, November 5 was gutted by fire due to a kerosene tanker explosion that claimed several lives and destroyed properties worth millions of Naira.
