The Federal Government says it has inaugurated 500 facilitators from the At Risk Children Programmme in Gombe State to help reduce the increasing rate of out of school children.
Speaking during the ceremony, Special Adviser to the President on Social Investment, Maryam Uwais, urged the facilitators to help the children beyond acquisition of knowledge, adding that they were expected to provide mentorship.
Uwais revealed that the 500 facilitators were expected to give report on the process of each child under their care on a monthly basis.
He, however, noted that the effort is a strategic approach towards solving the myriad of issues affecting enrolment of children within the communities.
