The Nigerian Government has called for an investigation into the mysterious death of Itunnu Babalola, a Nigerian lady sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for alleged human trafficking in Cote d’Ivoire.
A statement signed by the Commission’s Spokesman, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, described Babalola’s death as a tragic blow to the Nigerian mission in Cote d’Ivoire.
The statement revealed that the Commission had engaged the services of a lawyer to handle her appeal case.
It, however, maintained that her death will not stop the appeal in court to vindicate her of the charges against her.
