The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammad Bello, has said there would be no compensation for owners of demolished illegal structures in Abuja.
Bello, who disclosed this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday, stated that the ongoing demolition in Abuja is to correct infractions of the master plan.
He, however, said those whose structures were legal and were demolished to build infrastructure would be considered for compensation.
The Minister, noted that most of the structures were illegal, adding that there are guidelines for building in the nation’s capital.
