The Federal Government has promised to take significant action against the ravaging soot in Rivers State.
The Minister of States for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Nasir Gwazor, made the promise on Thursday while delivering his speech at the 6th National Council on Hydrocarbon held in Port Harcourt.
Sylva expressed concern about the soot, adding that his ministry will work with the federal ministry of environment to tackle the issue.
