The Federal Government has launched electronic passport to improve passport application process for Nigerians.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in Abuja.
The statement noted that the e-Passport will improve on the Biometric Passport technology and provide strategic step towards curbing forgery, impersonation and other forms of frauds associated with obtaining travel document.
It noted that it is the responsibility of the government to provide passport to its citizen, adding that the Nigerian passport is the highest affirmation of Nigerian citizenship.
