Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Adewale Omofaiye, escaped being kidnapped as gunmen attacked travelers between Ikoyi and Iyara, on Sunday evening.
Confirming the incident, the state police public relations officer, William Aya, said the number of those kidnapped was yet to be ascertained.
Aye revealed that the Police in collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilantes are on the trail of the Kidnappers.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner, Omofaiye, is said to be in a stable condition having escaped with gunshot wounds.
