Barbados has honored music star, Rihanna, with the prestigious National Hero of Barbados award.
The award which was presented by the president of Barbados Dame Sandra Mason makes Rihanna the 11th National Hero of Barbados. Which also makes her the second woman to ever receive the honor.
The honor comes on the heels of Barbados declaring itself the world’s newest republic, as it removed Queen Elizabeth II as head of state.
