The Senate has directed its Committee on Interior to launch a full scale investigation into the cause of jailbreaks across the country.
The House, presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Ovie Omo-Agege, resolved to summon the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, and the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Haliru Nababa, to decide the status of correctional centers nationwide.
The Senate in its resolutions called for a reinforcement of physical protection system at correctional centers across the nation by the Ministry of Interior to avert further attempts at jail breaks.
