The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has urged security agencies to ensure the protection of all churches in Zamfara State.
A statement issued by the General Secretary of CAN, Joseph Daramola, stated that this will prevent terrorists from carrying out their threats against Christians.
The statement which called for the trial of all suspected kidnappers, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to henceforth, sanction any Commissioner of Police or zonal police commanders and the Director of State Security Services wherever kidnappers operate in the country.
The Zamfara State Police Command had reportedly confirmed that a threat letter was sent to Christians in the state, asking them to stop worship and shut down churches or face violent attacks.
