Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has urged the Federal Government to take responsibility for catering to the welfare of security personnel across the country.
Governor Wike made the appeal at the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.
He stressed that state governments were only required to provide the necessary support, adding that his administration would not relent in its support to men and officers of the Nigerian military.
The governor implored the Federal Government not to abandon its responsibility of fending for security agencies to the states.
