Court Refuses to Grant Injunctive Order Against FG over Deduction of Allocation

A Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to grant an injunctive order against the Federal Government over the plan to deduct $418 million from the allocations of the 36 state governments.

In his ruling, the presiding Judge, Inyang Ekwo refused to grant the injunctive order.

Justice Ekwo held that the proper thing was for the issue of jurisdiction to be entertained first and resolved before proceeding to do anything in a matter before it.

The Judge, therefore, fixed December 21 to hear all applications challenging the jurisdiction of the Court along with the substantive matter.
