Plateau State University chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has embarked on an indefinite strike.
A statement jointly signed by the President of the Union, Hassan Zitta and Secretary, Deme Bitrus, revealed that the decision to declare the strike action was reached at its Congress held on Monday, December 20.
The statement noted that the state government had failed to honor the agreement it entered with the union.
It alleged that the state government had failed to release N70 million as part payment of the first tranche of earned academic allowance arrears.
