The United States Authority has charged a Colombian man, Mario Palacios over a plot to kidnap or kill Haitian President, Jovenel Moise, whose assassination occurred July 7, 2021.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the US Department of Justice, charged the suspect with conspiracy to commit murder or kidnapping.
The statement alleged that Palacios and 20 other Colombian nationals participated in the plot to kill Moise.
Haitian Authorities have alleged that Palacios, a former member of the Colombian military, was part of a mercenary group that killed Moise.
