Federal Government to Downsize Civil Service

The Federal Government has said it is planning to downsize the federal civil service.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed on Thursday in Abuja.

Ahmed stated that the downsizing is aimed at cutting the cost of the government’s recurrent expenditure yearly.

The minister, however, added that the Federal Government is working on an exit package for workers that would be affected.
