President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the republic of Mali of Nigeria’s support as its transitional leadership works to restore the country to civilian rule.
President Buhari gave the assurance when a Special Envoy from the Transitional President of Mali, Assimi Goita, paid him a courtesy visit at the state house, Abuja.
He stressed that Nigeria’s assistance will not go beyond the limits of the extant sanctions imposed on the country by the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.
The President urged Malians to work within the tenets of ECOWAS to restore constitutional order to the country.
