FG Approves Establishment of New Parks

The Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, says the Federal Government has approved the establishment of 10 new national parks.

Ikeazor disclosed this at the launch of a wildlife conservation campaign on Thursday, in Lagos State.

She noted that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved the creation of the national parks due to the threat faced by wildlife species such as pangolins, lions, elephants and manatees.

The Minister called for urgent proactive actions to reverse the trend of over-exploitation of these natural resources.
