Nyityo Dies of Lassa fever

Reports say a medical doctor working with the World Health Organization, WHO, Samuel Nyityo, have died of Lassa fever in Benue State.

Confirming the report, the state Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Joseph Ngbea, revealed that the medical doctor had been confirmed dead from Lassa fever.

Ngbea stated that the government had begun contact tracing of those who likely had contact with the victims.

It could not be ascertained how the medical doctor contracted the disease.
