Gombe Police arrest officer over shooting of trailer driver

Gombe State Police Command says the Police officer who shot a trailer driver during a stop-and-search operation has been arrested

A statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Obed Malum, disclosed that the arrested Police Inspector is under interrogation at state Criminal Investigation Department.

The statement enjoined all the peace-loving citizens of the State to stay calm as the police will not tolerate any act of indiscipline from any police officer.

It added that investigation is ongoing and disciplinary action would be taken against the suspect.
