Kwara State Government has warned principals of schools to refrain from imposing the wearing of Hijab or beret on students in the state.
Chairman the State Teaching Service Commission, Bello Abubakar, disclosed this in Ilorin, the state capital.
Abubakar reaffirmed the determination of the government to ensure religious tolerance among teachers and students so as to enhance peaceful coexistence.
The chairman enjoined all to shun religious sentiments and respect the rights of individuals.
The warning came on the heels of the fresh controversy on the wearing of Hijab in some Christian schools.
