The House of Representatives has passed, for second reading, a bill to bar people without University degrees from contesting for President.
The bill, sponsored by the member representing Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North constituency in Ogun State, Oriyomi Onanuga, seeks to amend some sections of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
The proposed bill, if passed, will bar politicians without a university degree from contesting for any elective position.
It was transmitted to the Committee on Constitution Amendment.
