The House of Representatives has asked the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on ritual killings in the country.
This followed a motion moved by the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Toby Okechukwu.
The lawmakers called for a campaign against the menace, noting that the effort of parents, schools, religious leaders and the media is needed.
The motion was unanimously adopted by the House which called on the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba to take urgent steps to apprehend and prosecute perpetrators of ritual killings.
