As reactions continue to trail President Muhammadu Buhari’s assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill 2021, the Accord Party says the President’s willingness in signing the document will advance democracy in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Monday by the National Legal Adviser of the Party, Maxwell Mgbudem disclosed that the bill now an Act would create an opportunity for political parties to readjust their internal democracy towards electing credible leaders.
The statement noted that the assent was a goodwill extended to Nigerians that must be replicated.
It called on Nigerians who have attained the voting age to get registered with political parties of their choice and also obtain voter cards in readiness for 2023.
