Interior Minister Sends Warning to Passport Applicants

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has warned passport applicants against paying money to immigration workers for issuance of passport.

Aregbesola, who gave the warning at the inauguration of the passport production centre at the Enugu State Passport Office, revealed that any applicant who offers money to officers would be charged with bribery and inducement.

He implored prospective applicants to make payments for the various categories of passport online and process their applications via the passport portal.

The Minister, however, regretted some of the challenges and irregularities Nigerians were passing through to procure their passports.
