El Rufai Backs Bello’s Chairmanship Position

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has said President Muhammadu Buhari directed Governor Abubakar Bello to take over the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Governor El-Rufai revealed this at a meeting where he addressed State chairmen of the party.

He noted that Governor Mai Buni cannot return as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Party because Bello had the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari and 19 governors.

The Governor assured that the party will be restored, and that convention will take place as scheduled.

Recall that Governor Bello declared himself the acting National Chairman of the APC on Monday.
