The General Assembly of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities has urged the Federal Government to embrace dialogue in a bid to resolve the ongoing disagreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
The Vice Chancellors made the call in a communiqué issued during their 80th meeting held in Abuja.
The communiqué noted that Nigerian universities would not be able to withstand the consequences of a prolonged strike.
It added that it would go on a comprehensive indefinite strike should the government fail to honor its demands before the end of the one-month warning strike.
