A Honduran judge has authorized the extradition of former President Juan Hernandez to the United States.
The country’s judicial authority, announced the decision on Wednesday.
According to a judicial spokesperson, Hernandez has three days to appeal the judge’s decision.
The former president, who was arrested in mid-February following the US extradition request, is accused of accepting millions of dollars in bribes to protect drug traffickers from investigation and prosecution, and aiding and abetting the use of weapons.
