Akwa Ibom state government has said the National Boundary Commission’s Trans-border Cooperation Initiative, would checkmate border hostilities and promote inter-border peace among border communities.
The state deputy governor Moses Ekpo, who disclosed this on Wednesday, described the initiative as a welcome development.
Ekpo stated that the initiative would offer indigenes of Akwa Ibom and Abia States the hope to go about their normal businesses without any fear of molestation and harm.
The Deputy Governor stressed that the latest effort by the Commission was a direct mandate by the federal government to ensure the maintenance of peace at all internal borders of the nation.
