Court Orders Malami to Delete Section 84 of Electoral Act

Abia State division of the Federal High Court has ordered the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to delete Section 84 (12) of the amended Electoral Act.

Delivering judgment, Evelyn Anyadike ordered Malami to delete the section of the Electoral Amendment Act without delay because it is unconstitutional.

Justice Anyadike held that the section was null, void and of no effect whatsoever and ought to be struck down as it cannot stand.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari recently signed the amended Electoral Act.
