Obiano clears air over arrest by EFCC

Former Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, has broken the silence over his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on his way to Texas, United States.
Governor Obiano, who spoke through his lawyer, Patrick Ikwueto, revealed that he tried to leave Nigeria, because he was rushing to meet up with a doctor’s appointment in the United States.
The Governor maintained that he was not running away from the country.
Recall that the EFCC had picked up the former governor at the Lagos International Airport, a few hours after he handed over to Soludo in Awka.
