The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has said the number of suspected cases of Lassa fever reported in 2022 is higher than what was reported for the same period in 2021.
NCDC revealed that a total of 123 deaths had been reported between January 1 and March 20, 2022.
It appealed to health workers to maintain a high index of suspicion for Lassa fever through vigilance, and look out for symptoms of the disease.
The center assured that the Federal Ministry of Environment was implementing a Lassa fever environmental response campaign in high burden states.
