FG inaugurates committee to review national trade policy

The Federal Government has inaugurated a committee to review the National Trade Policy of Nigeria.

Minister of trade and investment, Niyi Adebayo, said the inauguration marked a significant trajectory on how Nigeria uses international trade and investment as veritable tools for economic growth.

Adebayo stated that Nigeria’s trade policies were first articulated in a document in 1989 under the Structural Adjustment Programme.

The Minister lamented that the policy document has not been reviewed or revised since then.
