The Oscar Academy has revealed that Will Smith was asked to leave the Oscars ceremony after slapping Chris Rock but he refused.
The event’s organizing body said it had initiated disciplinary proceedings against Smith for violating the Academy’s Standards of Conduct.
He slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about his wife Jada Smith’s shaved head, a result of the hair-loss condition alopecia.
The actor who won the first Oscar of his career at the ceremony has since apologized.
