Bayelsa State Government has called on the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission to change the extant formula for sharing revenue.
The state Governor, Douye Diri, who was represented by his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, made the call while declaring open a two-day stakeholders’ sensitization forum on Tuesday, in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Diri frowned at the present revenue sharing formula, noting, that it lacks equity and justice for gas-producing states.
The governor noted that although the state ranks as the highest gas-producing state in the country, it was yet to enjoy full benefits of its huge natural gas endowment.
