The Northern Elders Forum has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to resign for failing to put an end to insecurity in the country.
The forum, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, stressed that it was disappointing that after seven years, Buhari has no solution to the insecurity bedeviling the country.
The statement noted that Nigeria’s constitution has provisions for leaders to voluntarily step down if they prove incapable of leading.
It, therefore, added that it is time for the President to consider resigning, since his leadership has proved incapable of providing security over Nigerians.
