Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa has offered to talk with protesters calling for the government to step down over its handling of an economic crisis.
The country is in the worst financial crisis since independence in 1948.
Thousands of people have taken to the streets to denounce the government led by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his elder brother.
Some of the protesters said they would only stop if the Rajapaksas stepped down.
